Appointment of CEO Ronald Schild

FLOCERT‘s Supervisory Board has appointed Ronald Schild as CEO of FLOCERT, Fairtrade‘s global certifier. Schild, starting immediately, is joining Managing Director Thorsten Niklas to form FLOCERT’s new Management Board.

“Ronald is the right leader for FLOCERT,” commented Bill Barrett, Chairman of the Board. “He brings over two decades of international leadership experience in digital infrastructure, media, and artificial intelligence and a charismatic, visionary and empathetic approach to leadership. In the new Management Board, Ronald will focus on business development, digital innovation, and organisational evolution, while Thorsten will continue to oversee the existing business and associated support functions.”

Born in Saarbrücken, Germany, Ronald possesses degrees in Business Administration and International Marketing. His background encompasses leadership roles at Amazon, Lexmark, and various digital consultancy firms, emphasising innovation, commercial growth, and operational excellence. As the former CEO of MVB GmbH, he successfully expanded the company’s global reach, drove numerous digital transformation initiatives, and led strategic M&A projects across Europe and the Americas.

Ronald is an excellent listener who will enhance FLOCERT’s understanding of the needs of its stakeholders and customers, supporting the Fairtrade movement in adapting to a more digitally driven environment successfully. The FLOCERT Supervisory Board is highly grateful to Thorsten, who has done an outstanding job over the past months in leading the company. Having both Thorsten and Ronald at the helm will enable FLOCERT to fully use its potential to offer and expand its service range as an ethical assurance provider.
