Description of Position
We are looking for an experienced freelance consultant to provide independent project management support for a strategically relevant project closely linked to Fairtrade International’s Standards Evolution Project.
The assignment focuses on supporting the coordination and implementation planning of certification scheme developments within FLOCERT.
- Type of engagement: Freelance / independent contractor agreement
- Scope: Project-based support (estimated workload up to approx. 20 hours/week; no fixed working time commitment)
- Duration: April – December 2026 (option to extend until 2027)
- Location: Remote, with optional alignment meetings in Bonn, Germany
- Fee: To be agreed based on experience and proposed daily/hourly rate
- Start date: As soon as possible
Scope of Services
The consultant will provide services including, but not limited to:
- Independent planning and structuring of project activities and work packages
- Coordination with internal and external stakeholders (in particular Fairtrade International counterparts)
- Monitoring of project progress and identification of risks or delays
- Advising on implementation approaches and project setup
Profile
- Proven experience in project management in complex environments
- Ideally familiarity with Fairtrade or comparable certification contexts
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience with certification schemes and relevant ISO/accreditation frameworks is an asset
- Fluency in English
- Experience in international environments preferred

Important Note on Engagement
This role is offered as a freelance consultancy assignment. The consultant will act as an independent contractor and is responsible for their own tax and social security obligations.
