We are looking for a Legal Counsel as a generalist, who combines legal expertise with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset. In this role, you will work across different departments, provide hands-on advice in particular on corporate, commercial, civil and contract law, and ensure that FLOCERT operates within a secure and compliant legal framework.
You will help colleagues navigate complex legal topics, contribute to governance processes, and act as a trusted partner in drafting, commenting and negotiating contracts as well as decision-making. You will be part of an international and diverse environment where cooperation, responsibility and respect matter in practice.

- Salary: The salary and benefit package depend upon qualifications and experience; according to collective agreement, category VIa (manager level)

Your responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial and data protection law
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with internal and external stakeholders
- Support governance processes and contribute to company-level decision-making
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions
- Ensure effective risk and contract management
- Coordinate with external legal advisors
- Support the development of compliance and data protection frameworks
- Share knowledge and provide training on legal matters within FLOCERT
Your qualifications, experience and skills
- Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist*in; First and Second State Examination), admitted to the bar
- Fluent in German and English, both oral and written
- Solid knowledge of data protection law (GDPR)
- Excellent communication skills and intercultural competence
- Ability to manage workload independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver under pressure
- Strong service orientation combined with motivation for Fairtrade
- Experience as in-house legal counsel, ideally within an international environment
- Additional language skills (e.g. French, Spanish) are considered an advantage
- Understanding of compliance and risk assessment
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment of certification standards
